Carnival: begins on the 17th of January (St
Anthony's Day) and ends on Ash-Wednesday. Locals parade dressed in Sailor’s
costumes, wearing horned lambs’ pelts as headdress. Very colorful festival.
PAG Carnival:
"Paska Robinja"- the legend of the female slave is retold at the highlight
of this colorful carnival, which re-enacts the sale of the slave, and her
glorious escape to freedom. Festival starts mid-January, and ends Ash
Wednesday.
